The Cardiff Life Awards 2015 – what a night!
We were met by a mass of glamorously dressed folk sipping on Bucks Fizz and chatting about all the wonderful things Cardiff has to offer.
It was great to see so many people coming together to celebrate the talent and hard work that goes into our amazing capital city.
Four of our clients – Greenaway Scott, Bully’s Restaurant, Bar 44 and Artes Mundi – were shortlisted for awards.
Ambitions were high as we know how hard these guys work to make their businesses a success – we’ve been crossing everything since the shortlist was announced.
The event was great, we laughed, chatted and enjoyed spectacular showcases from Sinfonia Cymru and No Fit State Circus (how they pull off those moves is beyond us!)
The shortlist displayed a diverse range of companies, from waxing boutiques to Doctor Who, it really goes to show how much Cardiff has to offer.
With such strong categories, it made for a nail-biting wait until the results were announced.
The first prize announced was for professional services, this went to our client, business advisory firm Greenaway Scott.
As the night progressed, other winners included: Arts – NoFit State Circus, Beauty – Madame Wax, Café/Coffee Shop – Waterloo Tea, Car Dealer – Wessex Garages, Cocktail Bar – Laguna Bar, Creative Real – SFX, Estate Agent/Property – Hern & Crabtree, Gastropub – The King’s Arms, Hair – Belle Toujours, Health – Pearce & Bowler, Interiors – Project 1, Leisure & Tourism – Doctor Who Experience, New Business – Home by Kirsty, Retailer – The Broque Trader, Watering Hole – The Lansdowne.
Our remaining clients, Artes Mundi, Bully’s Restaurant and Bar 44 waited in angst as their categories were called.
A hotly contested events category was won by Artes Mundi for this year’s Artes Mundi 6, the UK’s biggest contemporary art prize.
The last category to be announced was restaurant. With over 200 nominations, this was one of the strongest categories of the night, so it’s no surprise there were two winners.
We couldn’t be more delighted that they were Bully’s Restaurant and Bar 44.
Celebrations went on into the early hours, it was a testament to the spirit of the awards to see everyone congratulating one another – coming together to celebrate all the hard work independent businesses put in is really what it’s all about.
We were thrilled that all four of our clients came home with awards – we are proud to work with such a talented bunch.
Here’s to next year’s awards!
