The Radisson Blu Hotel, Cardiff, has expanded its business tourism facilities to respond to record growth from the corporate sector.
The four-star hotel, which is located in Cardiff city centre, has launched a Business Class Lounge to enhance the experience for its corporate guests.
The expansion comes on the back of a 66% increase in business tourism guests in 2012 and a further 90% growth in the first half of 2013.
Guests booking the hotel’s business class bedrooms will now have access to an exclusive business class lounge, which will be open in the evenings serving complimentary drinks and canapés, and a private breakfast area, where guests benefit from a dedicated host and luxury continental breakfast, in addition to the hotel’s Super Breakfast Buffet.
Jens Hallman, General Manager of the hotel, said: “Despite the recession, our revenue and occupancy rates have grown year-on-year in the past two years, which is relatively unheard of in our marketplace. Significant growth has come from the corporate sector on the back of several improvements we have made at the hotel.
“Responding to the importance of connectivity for our business clients, last year we invested heavily in a range of technical upgrades and enhancements and we now offer significantly faster Wi-Fi with up to 100MB internet.
“In addition to the added value elements in our 25 business class bedrooms, we have now expanded the facilities we offer our corporate guests with the launch of our Business Class Lounge. Our entire organisation is aligned to enhance the customer experience at every touch point and this latest addition to our facilities will ensure that our growing corporate client base is fully catered for.”
Earlier this year, the hotel was recognised for its growth in the corporate market by the National Tourism Awards for Wales having been shortlisted in the ‘Business Tourism Operator’ award category. The hotel will find out if it has been successful at the awards ceremony in Llandudno in November.
Managed by the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, the Radisson Blu Hotel is the tallest in Cardiff with 21 floors, 215 bedrooms, six flexible state-of-the-art meeting rooms with conference and event facilities for up to 300 people and an in-house Italian restaurant, Filini.
