RESOLVE it, a community interest company that provides training and workshops in how to stay safe, secured psychology student Imogen Fallon’s place on a 10 day charity trek in Guatemala by becoming her lead sponsor.
Imogen, 20, from Cardiff, took on the challenge which involved summiting the highest peak in Central America and walking amongst active volcanoes including Mt. Fuego, which recently erupted, to raise money for Hope for Children.
Hope for Children works in Ghana, India, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Uganda, the UK and Tanzania, areas that have unique social and economic circumstances which present different challenges to children and their families.
In order to take part in the challenge, Imogen needed to raise £2,795.
Imogen said: “After so many non-replies and refusals from schools, businesses and organisations for donations I was starting to lose hope, but RESOLVE it generously decided to support me as my main sponsor.”
RESOLVE it, set up by mother of four Diane Briere de l’Isle – wife of Admiral Group CEO Henry Engelhardt – donated £1,335 to support Imogen in the challenge, securing her place amongst the team traveling to Guatemala.
Imogen added: “Unfortunately, three of the people who had signed up for the challenge were unable to take part due to not raising enough sponsorship. RESOLVE it made sure I reached my target and enabled me to give so much money to a fantastic cause.”
Eira Culverwell, managing director of RESOLVE it, said: “We were really pleased to be contacted by Imogen in regards to her sponsorship. It was a huge challenge so we were glad we could ensure her place to take part with our donation.
“RESOLVE it delivers personal safety workshops in educational establishments, charities, businesses and not-for-profit organisations empowering individuals to stay safe, so we’re keen to help young people in any way we can. Hope for Children is a fantastic cause so we were really happy to lend our support.”
