With support from Admiral, the adult friendly night will return on Thursday February 15th. Visitors will have the chance to explore the centre’s exhibits, in addition to a few exciting extras for those who are looking for a non-traditional Valentine’s evening.
Instead of shooting arrows, cupid will be donning a labcoat in the name of love. As part of the festivities, the science discovery centre will be hosting a STI workshop in order to increase awareness around sexual and reproductive health, as well as encourage discussion on safe sex.
Guests will also be able to take advantage of the centre’s usual attractions, getting hands on with over 130 exhibits, which have entertained more than 5 million visitors over the years. They will also be able to explore the night sky in the 360° planetarium.
With access to a fully licensed bar and food on offer from The Grazing Shed, visitors (strictly over 18s) will be able to take advantage of the amenities on offer.
Lesley Kirkpatrick, CEO at Techniquest, said: “Our After Hours events are always incredibly popular, and are part of our commitment to making science accessible to everyone. With Valentine’s Day on the horizon, we wanted to give people the chance to celebrate the occasion without the stress of dinner reservations, as well as provide some entertainment to those who’ll be celebrating with their friends.
“The STI workshop is a great opportunity for people, regardless of their relationship status, to get informed on their sexual wellbeing in a fun and relaxed environment.”
