Welsh law firm Watkins & Gunn has been shortlisted for Family Law Firm of the Year 2015 at the prestigious Family Law Awards.
Watkins & Gunn Solicitors, which has offices in Cardiff, Newport and Pontypool, is one of only four firms in England and Wales, and the only one from Wales, to be selected by an independent panel of experts. The firm was chosen after demonstrating outstanding quality of expertise, service and teamwork within the firm and with other professionals.
The Awards, launched in 2011 by Jordan Publishing, seek to recognise the important work of family lawyers, and celebrate their many successes and outstanding achievement. The judging panel includes the heads of leading family law practitioners’ associations, journal editors and important figures in the legal world.
Watkins & Gunn Solicitors will find out whether they have won at the awards ceremony on the 8th October at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London.
Sophie Hughes, head of family law at Watkins & Gunn Solicitors, said: “I am absolutely thrilled that the whole team have been recognised in this way. What is so special about this award is that it has come about as a result of what clients and professional partners say about our work. The judges also recognised our pro bono initiatives benefiting the local community, the range of expertise within the firm and the training and career progression within the team.”
Managing Partner Clive Thomas said: “Our family law team is already recognised in professional directories such as The Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners, but this nomination is an honour. Our family law team are all very talented and are committed to making a difference to families in Wales. There’s some tough competition but we’re looking forward to finding out who’s won.”
Watkins & Gunn Solicitors offers a wide range of legal services including Accident Claims, Medical Negligence, Wills and Probate, Employment Law, Educations Law, Public Law, Business Law, Divorce and Family Law, Childcare Law, Criminal Law, Road Traffic Law and Property.
